This comment is exactly what is wrong with our FREAKING country. Biden is right, an election should be won from ideas and experience.
And I said it previously in this blog in my interview with James Hill.
All candidates for any public office election, SHOULD RECEIVE EQUAL FUNDING, EQUAL AIR TIME on TV and radio.
Our elections should NOT be one by who has the most money.
But by the the person who will represent those in his township, city, district, county, state, and nation. A representative of the people. A leader with one ear to his public, our public.
Have we all forgot "A Government, by the people, for the people", well have we?
Because comments & questions like the one the at the beginning of this post...
Well it just leads me to believe that it is "A Government, by the people with money, for the people with money. AND that we have come to accept it as that.

Sponges Cause Fire!
Ha ha, this is a great article about a study, done with house hold sponges. Researchers found that a sponge soaked with waste water, microwaved on full power for 2 minutes can kill like 99% of the germs. However in releasingthe articel they left out some important details.
1) Wet the sponge, or it will catch on fire and ruin your microwave.
2) You house will stink for hours, for cooking bacteria in your microwave.
3) Even thought it kills the germs, the sponge is no longer usable.
Great research, lots of benefits to microwaving your dirty sponge!

Poetry.com
Or a big fat scam as I like to say... It was even on dateline or some show like that, where this woman talks and tells her story of how they led her to believe she was great.
When I started writing in 1999 I posted several of my poems on this site. Many of my first few years are on this site. I have have one on there that someone wrote about me. I think it is called MISS YOU. Anyway, I quit because, they offer you to buy a book with you poem in it for $45. Yes I bought several of them at the start, feeling that I had accomplished something by getting published. Well if you ask me they publish everything for everyone and hope that you will buy the book. Now everytihng I have wrote is on my blog "Behind the Glasses" which is of course linked on "Link it or Sink it".
I did make a significant gain, and got into some books where you have your own page. LITTLE MAN was one of those to be published on it's own page. Yes I ordered the book 6 of them actually for like $200. I got that many for relatives that wanted a copy, as LITTLE MAN is about my brother that died of Cystic Fibrosis. I donated one copy to our high school library. Yeah imagine that, someone who struggled in English class all thru school now has published work in the school library. I did it in hopes that some would read it, maybe even know who I am and think I could do something like that to someday.
Anyway back to Poetry.com I think it is good in some ways, there is no purchase necessary. You do retain all copy rights. However, they want you to become a member, fly to their "shows" or "readings" for a small fee of like $600. They want you to buy the books, and other merchandise with your "work" on it. Everyone gets the same crappy cover letter. And for anyone in the beginning, you feel a real sense of accomplishment. Which then turns into wow, whoop-i-dip-ity-do. There is no real criticism, they accept everything. I mean, I feel some of my stuff is very good and other is very mediocre. But they give you the sense that everything you do is gold. They also have a membership that you can join and critic each others work. I don't remember if that comes with a fee or not. Like I said you don't have to purchase anything, but you send it to them and get published, then if you don't buy, then you have published work that you don't even have a copy of. It seems pointless to me. And they brag you up to get you to buy, join the club and all of that... I do appear to have quite a few on there compared to others with the same name as me. I have 16 on the site, where most of those with the same name as me hang around the 5-10 range.
Basically this is just to let anyone know, that yeah we all get the same cover letter.
These are the titles that I have on there. So you can be the judge.

McDonald's
Yes McDonald's.
They have slightly angered me. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago, and ordered a value meal and 20 McNuggets. I got my food, and opened the sack to look, b/c they can make mistakes. She said thank you and closed the window. I sat there and she looked at me strange, and I stared. She come back to the window and said yes? I said I ordered 20 nuggets and didn't get any. She said the screen says a number 4 with a coke. I sad then why did you charge me $9.14 for a number 4 and a coke. She didn't say anything and walked away and came back with the nuggets.
So last night, my first time back since the incident. I order a number 1 with a coke and two 6 piece nuggets. Since I had to wait 10 minutes for the nuggets, I was pretty confident that they remembered them. I have a 25 minute drive home, and ate the fries, then the sandwhich, then 5 nuggets. The other one fell out of the box, into my fry container. Since I was gone all day, I was going to give my dog, the other 6 nuggets as a piece offering. I get in the house and tell him to look at what I have. He is all excited, I open the bag and guess what I have, 1 Nugget. Yes they shorted me six nuggets. So that deal of 6 nuggets for a $1 is a scam apparently, because I got 6 nuggets for $2. What a deal. Maybe it is a sign that with all of their machines they have now, that people can't funtion without them. Maybe it is too damn tough to count two boxes of nuggets. This isn't a new experience either, they have shorted me on orders in the past. A large fry here, and a cheeseburger there. Ole McDonald screwed me for a buck, e-i-e-i-0.

American Heroes
After my last post, this one is very appropriate. Please take the time to read this, I know once you start reading it you will finish. I am posting this on my blog as a personal "Thank You" to all who serve to maintain our "Freedom". I don't know who wrote it, but if I did, I would give them credit.
And if you happen to be anti-war, remember...
Hate the game not the player.
The Military The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society ashalf man, half boy Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, butold enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he wouldrather wax his own car than wash his father's; but he has never collected unemploymenteither.
He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155 mmhowitzer.
He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.
He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional. He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march. He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other.
He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry. he sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, hisfood. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.
He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.
He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime. He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them.
He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed. He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful. Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom . Beardless or not, he is not a boy.
He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding. Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood. And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so. As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot.. A short lull, a little shade and a picture of loved ones in their helmets

Hanging Hussein
Well the deed is done. And to be honest with you it has no effect on me. Not one of victory nor one of over reaction.
What I mean is, I am sure he deserved his demise for the attacks on those who tried to assassinate him. I am sure he is guilty of war crimes. I am sure he was not a benefit to society.
However, what I am also saying. Is since 9/11 we have been in Iraq, fighting this war that has progressively gotten worse. We lose more soldiers as time goes and what are really gaining? This is slowly turning into, a Veitnam type situation, a war we can not win.
And most of all, from my understanding Osama Bin Laden was behind the terrorists attacks. So why didn't we have a 6 year campaign against Bin Laden? Why so much time, money, and human life in Iraq? To get one thing straight, I am not anti-war. I also feel that we were attacked by Bin Laden and took action against Hussein. If anything, I would guess, we could have sided with Hussein and he would have apprehended Bin Laden within months. Some of you may say why would we want to side with him? Wake up..... do you realize that these crimes he was recently convicted of have years ago? In the 80's I believe, yeah back when we were giving them weapons to fight Iran, and giving Iran weapons to fight Iraq.

Saddam is charged with crimes against humanity for killing of 148 Shiites in 1982. Yes 1982.
My point, you ask? This war has nothing to do with 9/11. This war had nothing to do with the price of tea in China either. But you can bet your ass it had something to do with the price of gas. Have terrorists threats gone down? nope! it has hovered around "amber" for 6 years. it is just like the weather, partly cloudy with a chance of rain.
So the next time you think the war is about fighting back against terrorism.... what 9/11 crime are we pursuing and what suspect?
I support our troops, and for some it's not their choice to be there either. I just would like it if this war was against terroism, that we would attack terroism, specifically Bin Laden and Al Quada. Iraq is going to have tremendous termoil no matter who is in charge...
And sadly enough here in America and most of the world to follow. Politics will be controlled by fossil fuels. Yes we are dependent, fossil fuels will be more valuable than money. Anyone remember Mad Max? A waste land fighting over fuel.....

Designer Birth Defects
Check out the link, I am not even going to say anything except THIS IS F#$%ING WRONG!
If you can prevent a life threatening disease, maybe I can see a purpose. But to intentionally make your kid a dwarf because you are. That is just misery loves company. Not that they are miserable, but there has to be some "outsider" feeling that goes with it.
When you have kids, you have sex, and nature decides from there. I would hate my parents if they gave me a birth defect on purpose. YES HATE, without a doubt, there is no growing up and saying I understand why you did this to me. HELL NO! I would say something more like you did this to me on purpose? F#$% OFF AND DIE, that is what I would say. Even making their kids deaf intentionally, that is SICK.
This makes a very good point even more valid. You need a license to drive a car or hunt, hell you need a license to drive a damn forklift at work, but any two idiots can have a kid or a whole bunch of kids. And any two idiots with money can now have kids with disabilities intentionally.

Peter Boyle
First of all, he was 71 and it sucks when anyone dies, but 71 beats 17. From what I know he was a good, decent person and enjoyable actor. Here's to you Peter! My condolences go out to his family and those who knew him at a personal level. And Like I always say, it sucks to lose someone, but it sucks even more for them.
I don't know alot about his filmography and not going to look it up probably. But I can't remember watching a movie or TV show with him in it asn saying he sucks at this part. He was a good actor. My favorites were; Young Frankenstien with Gene Wilder, and The Dream Team with Michael Keaton, Christopher Lloyd and one of the Beattey's? Anyway when he is in the back of the van a singing "Hit the road Jack" and thinks he is Jesus. I love that show, hilarious..
He also played the part well on Everybody loves Raymond. The best comedy to me is when you stay straight faced even though you might have just said the funniest thing ever. Everyone around you is in tears and if acting you stay in character, if your with friends you let out a little smirk.

A week in the NFL
What a week in the NFL
The AFC was shaken up a little this weekend.
The Jaguars tough at home, Jags 44 – 17 over the Colts. Indy falls from 1st to 3rd. The Ravens take the 2nd spot with a 20 – 10 win over the Chiefs. And LT and the Chargers take the number one spot with a solid win over the Broncos 48 – 20. LT breaks S. Alexander’s single season rushingTD record with 3 games left to play. LT is at 29 TD’s and still making it look easy. LT also set a new record of fewest games to reach the 100 TD mark. The Chargers as a team have hit some records this year as well. I think one was having back-to-back comeback victories after trailing by more than 24 points. Right now they are number one and on fire. If they remain number one, and gain home field advantage it will be the first time in Chargers history. As far as who is this year’s MVP? I don’t think there is a question. Is that yet another record? Not that it is official yet, but has there been an MVP marked this by this point in the season? The Chargers have clinched their division.
A Touch of Class
I watched the end of the Cowboys – Saints game. This started off as a pretty good game, as I only checked the scores in the first half. It was also a battle for the number two spot in the NFC. By early in the second half it had become pretty lopsided late in the game. The Saints break into the “red zone” with a little under 3 minutes remaining in the game and 42 – 17 lead. Saints Coach Sean Peyton goes with a QB kneel down to run the clock off for 4 straight downs. Turns the ball over, on a kneel down, to the Cowboys. Cowboys Coach Bill Parcell has been around the league long enough and knows this game is over, also runs two QB kneel downs to finish the game. And with their 8-5 record still lead their division.
In the NFC
The Bears play the Rams in St. Louis tonight and even with a loss will still be on top of the NFC. A win, however would put them 2 games ahead of the Saints and closer to home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Currently the Saints in 2nd, Cowboys in 3rd, and the Seahawks in 4th. The Bears have Clinched their division.

· Bears at Rams
The AFC was shaken up a little this weekend.
The Jaguars tough at home, Jags 44 – 17 over the Colts. Indy falls from 1st to 3rd. The Ravens take the 2nd spot with a 20 – 10 win over the Chiefs. And LT and the Chargers take the number one spot with a solid win over the Broncos 48 – 20. LT breaks S. Alexander’s single season rushingTD record with 3 games left to play. LT is at 29 TD’s and still making it look easy. LT also set a new record of fewest games to reach the 100 TD mark. The Chargers as a team have hit some records this year as well. I think one was having back-to-back comeback victories after trailing by more than 24 points. Right now they are number one and on fire. If they remain number one, and gain home field advantage it will be the first time in Chargers history. As far as who is this year’s MVP? I don’t think there is a question. Is that yet another record? Not that it is official yet, but has there been an MVP marked this by this point in the season? The Chargers have clinched their division.
A Touch of Class
I watched the end of the Cowboys – Saints game. This started off as a pretty good game, as I only checked the scores in the first half. It was also a battle for the number two spot in the NFC. By early in the second half it had become pretty lopsided late in the game. The Saints break into the “red zone” with a little under 3 minutes remaining in the game and 42 – 17 lead. Saints Coach Sean Peyton goes with a QB kneel down to run the clock off for 4 straight downs. Turns the ball over, on a kneel down, to the Cowboys. Cowboys Coach Bill Parcell has been around the league long enough and knows this game is over, also runs two QB kneel downs to finish the game. And with their 8-5 record still lead their division.
In the NFC
The Bears play the Rams in St. Louis tonight and even with a loss will still be on top of the NFC. A win, however would put them 2 games ahead of the Saints and closer to home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Currently the Saints in 2nd, Cowboys in 3rd, and the Seahawks in 4th. The Bears have Clinched their division.

WTF?
How about Merry Christmas. Yeah I said it, Merry Christmas. This is ridiculous, I mean there are certain things this country was founded on. And yes some of those things happen to be religious beliefs. Myself, I am not an overly religious person, but I accept the fact that the United States of America was and is 1 Nation Under God. Yes and in GOD WE TRUST, should always be on our money, and 1 NATION UNDER GOD should be in the pledge of allegiance. And we should swear on a holy bible when in court in the USA. In any other country you might find yourself lucky to get a damn attorney. Oh by the way, the Chinese use a different calendar, so does that mean we can’t say Happy New Year any more? I mean it is not everyone’s New Year.
I am not even a fan of the holidays, it’s cold, everyone is out shopping for gifts and it just seems to go on and on. But what really pisses me off is our retail companies and people trying so hard not to offend anyone that they say happy holidays….
I am not against immigrants or people coming here to better themselves, but in some cases it requires sacrifices. You are still allowed to celebrate your religion and holidays of choice. But you should hear Merry Christmas when you walk into Walmart. THAT’S TOUGH, that is what we celebrate here in America. You may reply with what you celebrate. To me that is just like saying HI, HELLO, HOLA or ALOHA. They all cover the same point, a greeting.
However, English is the American language, learn it. When you go to a new country you have to assume a certain amount of their customs to get by. But the way things are here right now, is we will bend over backwards to help anyone. If I were to move somewhere else, they would expect me to learn their laws, language, religion. But if you come to America, we will change for you, IT IS WRONG.
It is time that we start to run this country on the principals it was founded on and stop bending over backwards to make everyone else happy. Stop sending $.70 per day to a foreign country when that same $.70 per day could go to needy children in this country.
Like Mancow’s slow burn. Madonna adopting a foreign kid? She is from Detroit, like Detroit doesn’t need help?

Divorce! Who would have guessed?
Who figured this would last anyway?
Pam Anderson: Who I once thought was pretty classy, which maybe I was just a little naive. Or side tracked by her beauty. Pam is pretty much to a point of dating anyone that can bring her to the center of attention. Outside of their recent multiple wedding ceremonies have not drawn much attention. So here comes the divorce.
Bob Ritchie: No matter how much money he makes, he maintains the white trash image. Just do something with that hair.
My thoughts: So here we are with a divorce filed, stating they were happy dating and marriage has ruined it. OK maybe this is just me, but I don't believe that. Marriage is a legal agreement. It should not change your feelings or or the way you treat each other, that should all be extablished while dating. That is why people date, or in some cases for one hell of a story, or sex, or what the hell we are both famous. I say they are gettng divorced now, there is a good chance you will see them dating again in the near future. Either as a typical on/off again relationship or to "prove" the marriage ruined them.

Natural Selection
What worries you most about the recent spate of school shootings?
Asked at the end of the story covering the recent Amish school shooting.
My thoughts.
That we today have made our society a place that we help and nurture so many people mentally unstable and just plain dumb and 100 years ago they and other dumb asses like them would not have been smart enough to live to adulthood. Now I feel it is our society that is helping them to live to adulthood and look at the paybacks, not only that but they reproduce.
I recently watched a Michael Moore film “Bowling for Columbine” pick any other country in the world and there is less than 300 murders annually. That may happen per stat here in the U.S. but the total for our country was over 11,000 why such the huge gap? Because if we clean up this country too many cops and homicide detectives will lose their jobs, we are maintaining balance.
Leaving natural selection in the hands of freaks and lunatics, not to the people who just live day to day on good old common sense. Common sense goes along way, but can’t beat freaks, nuts, suicidal “not going alone” assholes.
All here in the melting pot of the world….

In Memory of Emily Keyes
Random acts of kindness
“In memory of Emily we would like everyone to go out and do random acts of kindness, random acts of love to your friends or your neighbors or your fellow students because there is no way to make sense of this,” Gonzalez said. “It’s what Emily would have wanted.”
Very well said if you ask me. What an excellent approach to a meaningful memorial.
Emily was fatally shot Wednesday in a Bailey, Colorado high school.
Our sympathy is with her family and others involved in this senseless tragedy.
I am off to perform random acts of kindness, in memory of someone I have never met.

The James Hill Interview
JAMES HILL FOR CONGRESS
What does Iowa have that the other 49 states don't have? A man like James Hill running for congress, that’s what. Read this nearly 6 page interview done recently with Candidate Hill and find out why he is so different.

TDK: Well Mr. Hill, it is obvious that you feel our government and the elected officials are corrupt. I am sure there are many others who share your views. Here is a quote from your site. “Ideas for laws can be submitted with out taking a congressman to dinner.” Does that mean that you would never discuss a new law over dinner?
Candidate Hill: In put from experts, constituents, people affected by legislation for better or worse can be picked up just as well in a mans office during work hours. I am very serious about exposing the abuse of public trust that’s traded for these free meals and “fact finding vacations” our legislators enjoy.
TDK: Well I what I mean is, people are not likely to forget that kind of statement. Especially when followed by a comment like this. “Our government can function with out a city full of lawyers whose only job is to bribe elected officials. This is again a problem of both parties.” Do you feel that brutal honesty can win an election?
Candidate Hill: Honesty has to win out eventually. I think it was Ronald Reagan’s quote about having to “lie if it is in your best interest”, well when you only seek out outcomes that are in “your best interest” you’ll end up lying quite a bit. That’s less of a knock on Dutch than it is a problem with our general attitudes. No one wants to fess up and take their lumps anymore. The parties especially need to look at how they operate and to what end. Remember they take in a lot of private money but a lot of tax money also supports the party structure so we deserve some control over them. Both of them.
TDK: Once elected, what next? I mean have you researched at any level what congressmen do?
Candidate Hill: I remember enough of government class to be able to function. The legislature is a body that enacts rules and guidelines, appropriates money for projects among other things. I am perfectly capable of working in a group towards any common good. Do you think I will have any friends in there with my attitude of ending the gravy train? Would any one of the sitting legislators work with me? If they wouldn’t it will only be more proof of just how addicted they are to the money.
TDK: Of course you will not please everyone. This will make you the black sheep. I mean campaigning without financial backing and being frank and honest. Does that bother you?
Candidate Hill: You can not take donations and work effectively, it contradicts human nature. When you rely on contributions to win you are going to take special care of the donors. I think voters are ready to take a chance and send DC a message by electing the guy that spends the least money campaigning and owes no debts to contributors.
TDK: Is there a possibility that even if you are elected that by being out numbered that all your efforts may go in vain?
Candidate Hill: My ability to run bills through will be hog tied I am sure. Or that is until I start posting details of the inner workings and back door deals. Nothing that would violate confidentiality of course but right now they call everything secret while we sit on the outside wondering what the people who are supposed to be our servants are up to. I only want two years of holding the magnifying glass over the Congress. It’s asking a sacrifice by my constituents for a greater good for all of the country.
TDK: I myself feel that any elected official (as a candidate) should receive a certain amount “air time” each, maybe even it should be free. I would say they can select the program in which during it airs, in a window of prime time hours. This could trickle down form presidency / national to congressman / local. What do you feel about that idea? To put everyone on the same playing field so to speak?
Candidate Hill: Definitely, the networks will whine like little bitches but remember, they will still be making huge profits with out election money. e. Enforce no payback rules after people leave office also. The Congress was not intended to create millionaires; it is supposed to be a body of public servants. If you want to get rich, stay in the private sector and work.
2. Social Security:
a. We can shore it up by putting our elected officials back onto it and cut their fat retirement entitlement.
3. Military:
a. We have to rely less on contractors so soldiers are in charge again.
b. Real auditing of spending. Throwing money at the military does not necessarily make stronger if the money is not used right.
c. Real concern for veterans. If a soldier comes back from a war with a wound or a head problem we pay them a wage as long as it takes for them to get better, not because it is cheap but because we owe them that.
4. Taxes:
a. Instead of seeing funding as an evil see it as a necessary evil to pass a stronger Republic to our children.
b. Get the money spent right by getting special interest lawyers and lobby representatives out of the committee meetings in the capitol.

a. Corporations must be taught responsibility. When we were railing in the eighties for less regulation we forgot that oversight and fair practice would go away with them. No company or person gets government money unless it has a firm plan to reinvest it in our people.

Candidate Hill: The wording on your driver’s license doesn’t make us look stupid, electing superficial, power hungry and greedy Congressmen does. I like D&M’s anti traffic camera campaign better. If I can ticket you thru your vehicle because of someone else’s actions it opens up a potentially bad precedence, then can we charge United Airlines board of directors with murder because some idiots used their planes to kill 3000 people?
FRANNY: I don’t think we live in a "absolute" democracy. I like to call it a "limited" democracy. We elect a representative based on positions and they speak for everyone whether they flip after the election or not. It doesn’t seem right. It would be nice to have all individuals vote on a bill and majority rules.
TDK: What would you say to that? There are so many people that even if a elected official stays true to his public, his vote is actually as clear as mud, but counts as if it were black, and white.

We can clear up the mud by enacting my aforementioned house reforms. If we get the billions that are paid in to politicians to get legislation to benefit a few people, majority rule might become the standard anyway.

I think it was Ronald Reagan’s quote about having to “lie if it is in your best interest”, well when you only seek out outcomes that are in “your best interest” you’ll end up lying quite a bit. That’s less of a knock on Dutch than it is a problem with our general attitudes. No one wants to fess up and take their lumps anymore. The parties especially need to look at how they operate and to what end. Remember they take in a lot of private money but a lot of tax money also supports the party structure so we deserve some control over them. Both of them.
TDK: Once elected, what next? I mean have you researched at any level what congressmen do?
Candidate Hill: I remember enough of government class to be able to function. The legislature is a body that enacts rules and guidelines, appropriates money for projects among other things. I am perfectly capable of working in a group towards any common good. Do you think I will have any friends in there with my attitude of ending the gravy train? Would any one of the sitting legislators work with me? If they wouldn’t it will only be more proof of just how addicted they are to the money.
TDK: Of course you will not please everyone. This will make you the black sheep. I mean campaigning without financial backing and being frank and honest. Does that bother you?
