Shooting At Virginia Tech

This is truly a tragedy. However, it is almost impossible to stop or avoid a situation that is well planned out as this has been described. We as citizens would lose many rights, privileges and benefits in an attempt to prevent this.

I am not aware of the shooter, his identity or mental heath. But say he was seemingly normal, how do you prevent that? You can’t. On the other hand, undoubtedly this person had some number of friends or family. Were there any clues, regarding his mental health or possibly a motive based on retaliation. If there are clues of some sort to detect a change in a persons life, that is where we as a population would benefit the most.
Increasing security across the nation at every school, is not practical. Also when to you stop security, when you are checking yourself into a school and it feels more like county jail work release?

This is called The School House Poem. I am not sure who wrote it but I think it fits the happenings of today very well. My heart goes out to every person involved and they are in my prayers.

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites
It violates the Bill of Rights.
Anytime my head I bow
Becomes a federal matter now.
The law is specific; the law is precise.
Praying out loud is no longer nice.
Praying aloud in a public hall
Upsets those who believe in nothing at all.
In silence alone we can meditate
and if God should get the credit--great!
They are bringing their guns,
I don't dare bring my Bible,
To do so might make me liable.
So, now Oh Lord, this plea I make;
Should I be shot in school,
My soul please take.
God Bless America!
whisper ........please

Thanks for your previous feedback on a piece of mine in my site.

Nothing can be done. Political correctness doesn't allow for this word, but some people are "evil."

I'm by no means a religious man; however,I'm a man with faith. There's evil in this world, and we will always be exposed to it or victimized by it.

Look at the home invasion in Florida; it occurred a few weeks ago. Two teenagers invade a home with guns. They rape the mother. They force the 12 year old son to have sex with his mother. It's just evil.
